I met up with some clients who purchased with me about 7 years ago. A great couple that who had worked and travelled in and to many incredible cities and countries around the world. I will never forget how “cheap” they thought Toronto housing was when they arrived. Well, the subsequent years have proven that fact, Toronto housingĀ was cheap!

They subsequently have had children and they are realizing that a hosing upsize is on the horizon. We had a great conversation about what they want their lives to look like, what their lifestyle would be and how much they would love to stay in their existing neighbourhood of Dovercourt Park or move into Dufferin Grove.

Their house has more than doubled in value since they purchased. That additional equity and more seniority at work (ie larger paycheques) will provide them with a number of excellent options.

I suspect that in time they will decide that Dufferin Grove best suites their needs as the houses are larger, the lots are larger and the general aesthetic of the homes were built in the era that many people in Toronto love. Also, a big benefit of Dufferin Grove is that fact that there are a lot of trees, century old trees. You are pretty hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t want a tree lines street in Toronto. Dufferin Grove Park is still one of my favourite parks in the city!

I’m very grateful to have had the opportunity to stay in touch with them over the years and to be given an opportunity to help them with their next move.
