What's The Deal With Printing Factory Lofts – 201 Carlaw Avenue?

With a name like The Printing Factory Lofts, you know this building must have roots in the industrial sector. It’s so gorgeous now, though, that it would probably take you a minute to notice its historical roots. The building was converted in 2014 to artfully blend the original 3-storey structure with a beautiful glass tower. The developers even painstakingly restored the main entrance to include a grand wooden staircase and vaulted ceilings.

Each unit has everything you would want in a loft: concrete floors, charming exposed concrete ceilings, stainless steel appliances, stone countertops, custom-designed kitchen islands, and deep soaker tubs. There’s plenty of room for you to do your work, hang out, and to just enjoy yourself.

The units come in a variety of layouts, with 2 and 3 bedroom choices in the glass tower structure or studio lofts for working and living in the original building section. There are even townhouses for families along Boston Avenue. Basically, no matter what your situation is, you can probably find a unit that suits your needs.

You even have plenty of options when it comes to lunch. Some good spots to try include: Simon’s Wok Vegetarian Kitchen, and Skin + Bones. If you just need a coffee, just head over to Shirley’s First Break.

A great staple of this neighbourhood is Dave & Charlotte’s No Frills. Reasonably priced groceries and a wide selection – what’s not to love about it? For art and culture lovers, you can pay a visit to MJG Gallery, Studio 888 and The Aztec Theatre.

Another cool thing about the building is its clever design. The architects actually hid the underground parking by using the courtyards, private yards, and street frontages to integrate the industrial podium into the surrounding landscape. Beautiful and efficient. How smart is that?
