Coffee spelled in flooring

Roncesvalles has long been considered one of our absolute favourite neighbourhoods in Toronto! Considering Roncesvalles commercial strip is really just Roncesvalles Ave (yes, Sorauren and Dundas have some great options) it’s pretty incredible how many coffee shops have managed to stay and float and in the case of the list below, thrive! Here are the best coffee shops in Roncesvalles:

Cherry Bomb

Cherry Bomb is very much an independent coffee shop. The owners roast their own beans in Prince Edward County. Their pastries are also made from scratch, unlike most coffee shops that have a daily delivery from a bakery supplier. This minimalist cafe is a great spot to stop in. Look up at the wall and try to imagine jumping on that ultra-aerodynamic track bike! (Wowza).

Lit Espresso Bar

Lit is a friendly locale in Roncy and one of the busier cafes in the hood. (Well, the truth is all of these cafes are friendly, it’s Roncy after all!) Great coffee, in fact, they decided a little while back to begin roasting their own beans under the name Pig Iron Roasters. Notice a theme here? Independent shops are roasting, it’s a moneymaker (distributing to tother coffee shops now!) and a great way to get exactly what flavour they desire.

Reunion Island

Reunion Island is a bright, modern space that serves some wonderful coffee. In fact, one option looks a lot like a high school science experiment – be sure to ask them about this option! This is the flagship for the Oakville based roasters, Reunion Island.

Fantail

Some may say that Fantail is a bakery first and foremost, well…the wafting of their baked goods would certainly convince many of this – Fantail does have some great coffee! It’s a great spot to stop and grab a sandwich while in Roncy.
