Lytton Park backyard summer view

We have a particular affinity for the Lytton Park Neighbourhood in Toronto. Having grown up in the area, attended Glenview Senior Public School then Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute, we can appreciate some great memories in the area and have placed many clients in Lytton Park. We love many of Lytton Park streets. The nostalgia runs deep.

(Did you know that Adam Sandler’s film Happy Gilmore was filmed at John Ross Robertson?)

The Best Walk

The best walk in Lytton Park begins in the ravine on the eastern side of Glenview. There is a river that has been re-routed underground that comes out further east in Lawrence Park. Grab a coffee and go for a stroll. The park system goes a long way; you can link the parks to Lake Ontario. This particular walk through the ravine system has surprised many who have never walked it before. It is simply stunning! There are tennis courts and lawn bowling by the flower park as well.

Most Popular Shopping

You will quickly notice that the three most popular shops are sport/active based locales.

  1. Sporting Life – excellent clothing as well as all of the seasonal sporting gear you could imagine! Very well run shop that has employed nearly every Lawrence Park student since it’s inception!
  2. Sign Of The Skier – Yes, they sell skis! However, during the summer, the shop shifts to outdoor furniture and BBQs. Again, excellent service and a supportive employer of the local high schoolers.
  3. Roots Lodge – this is one of the original Roots shops in Canada. If you walk in, you will see that there remains some old character.

Best Streets In Lytton Park

  • Alexandra Blvd & Glencairn – the deepest lots in Lytton Park (south side of Glencairn, North side of Alexandra). One of our clients purchased on Glencairn and each time we visit them, we feel like we have entered a private park when we sit down in their backyard. Simply incredible!
  • Glenview Avenue – specifically the north side of Glenview that backs onto the ravine. The backyards are lovely and being that it is a partial dead-end, it can be all the more peaceful.
  • The truth – all the streets are beautiful; each offers its unique charm.
