What Makes The Annex So Great?

Known as one of Toronto’s most beloved and unique downtown neighbourhoods, The Annex is an eclectic area with youthful vibrancy and a hip urban feel. Within the Annex Toronto neighbourhood, you’ll find everything, from urban sushi restaurants and wallet-friendly pizza joints, to second-hand bookstores and neighbourhood cafes.

Despite all the great neighbourhood stores and shopping the Annex offers, the area is largely residential, and the Annex real estate is full of Victorian and Edwardian architecture that stands out with remarkable distinction.

With so many great places to see, and things to do, the Annex, Toronto is truly an area that offers something for everyone – and even made my list of the best places to live in Toronto.

You Should See

Home to Toronto’s most prestigious university, the University of Toronto is one of the places that has made the Annex a household name thanks to the students in Toronto neighbourhoods. For more of a commercial vibe, stroll along Bloor Street east of Bathurst to check out the myriad of stores on display (and even the remains of Honest Ed’s, whose presence defined this area for decades – and whose distinctive sign will once again light up the street in the coming years).
