Yorkville Restaurant - Hightop Bar Area

Yorkville continues to grow as a destination for restaurants and nightlife – not to mention some recently built condos. Take a stroll down Cumberland or Yorkville Ave, and you will see precisely what we mean — surrounded by supercars, Haute couture and the who’s who of visiting celebrities. But, let’s put that aside for a moment, some restaurants are worth checking out whether you are into rubbing elbows with the elite or not.

Here is our list of where to eat in Yorkville:

Brothers Food & Wine

We are biased; this is our favourite Yorkville restaurant! It’s a humble, small space on Bay Street; in fact, it is right above Bay Station. Yes, you will hear the subway rumble. It adds character! If you have ever been to NYC, you will know that great restaurants can be incredibly small and cozy. Seemingly converting what could be a cloakroom into an excellent dining experience. Well, here you go Toronto, this is your go-to north of the border. It can get busy, make a reservation, or stop in and grab a seat at the bar. Now, GO!

Buca Osteria & Bar

Looking for some great Italian food? Look no further: Buca. Great pasta and home to the most expensive pizza in Toronto! As one would expect in the setting, you will undoubtedly be surrounded by power brokers and celebs.

Sassafraz

The iconic Yellow Building smack dab in the middle of Yorkville – it has long been the culinary hub of TIFF. The building survived and was improved after a fire several years ago. Sassafraz is home to French-Canadian tastes. The wine selection is fantastic!

Planta

What’s a top 3 restaurant list without a bonus 4th option? For the vegan foodies. You cannot go wrong with anything on this menu. Be sure to reserve as Planta gets very busy. Nort sure about vegan food? Here is the gateway option…try a dessert! You may be hard-pressed to find something better!
