The Hillcrest neighbourhood of midtown Toronto comprises of a few great spots, including Wychwood and Bracondale Hill. Hillcrest was long overlooked as a great neighbourhood in Toronto. We believe this neighbourhood is one of the best areas to live in Toronto. Thanks to the dedicated TTC Streetcar line across St. Clair West, the region has opened up all the more. There are some incredible detached homes throughout the area, Brancondale Hill, in particular, has a few streets that boast city mansions with purchased views of Downtown Toronto and as far as Lake Ontario. Again, this is not something that many Torontonians are aware of!
We dive into a few of our favourite spots to visit in this Hillcrest neighbourhood guide.
Krave Coffee
The names says it all, who doesn’t “Krave” a good coffee? Krave Coffee was the location of a former Pho restaurant several years ago. Nowadays, it’s a rustic ambiance serving some excellent grounds!
Ferro Bar & Cafe
The best Italian food in HIllcrest is Ferro. A family run business that gets the locals in droves. Great pizza and other Southern Italian specialties. Consider take out and catering for your next family meal here (pandemic style).
Best Parks
Who couldn’t do with some outdoor space? We all need to get outside, get some vitamin D and move our bodies, maybe even watch Fido stretch his legs. The two best parks are Hillcrest Park, which overlooks Toronto’s downtown core and offers tennis courts! This spot is hard to beat! The more famous park in the area is Wychwood, where you will find the Wychwood Barns, a great place on weekends!
